Cedric Lopez joined the Interdisciplinary Institute for NeuroScience (IINS) in September 2009 to manage the strategic planning of the institute and the implementation and development of the new building that will host the IINS research facilities in 2015. His tasks also include the administrative support of strategic projects and grants, the general management of the life of the Institute and the coordination of all services vital to the IINS research teams. He works daily in close connection with the Director of the Institute and is part of the IINS steering committee.
Cedric Lopez holds a PhD in Optics from the Univ. of Central Florida, USA. Following a first work experience in materials science and attracted by new scientific challenges and interdisciplinary science, he joined a research team at CREOL (Center for Research and Education in Optics and Lasers, Florida, USA) from 1999 to 2005 to study the interaction between materials, optics and biology. He then managed the strategic development of the infrastructure and services of a Neurophotonics Centre as well as the coordination of a new graduate program in Biophotonics (Laval Univ., Canada) from 2005 to 2009 before joining IINS and the Univ. of Bordeaux.
