Title
Towards upper-limb neuroprostheses in mice
Abstract
Brain-machine interfacing of upper-limb prostheses is a promising strategy to restore the autonomy of patients. However, although patients can drive a prosthesis movement via cortical motor control to achieve simple manipulations, these brain-machine interfaces lack any form of somatosensory feedback from the prosthesis, despite its potential role in skilled motor control.
Taking advantage of the mouse model, I will explore the key role of somatosensory feedback in cortical motor control, and demonstrate our capability to use the mouse model to explore the bidirectional control of an upper-limb prosthesis.
