Cell Culture
Our expertise
- From wild-type or transgenic rodents:
– Primary cultures of hippocampal or cortical cells (neurons/glial cells/purified astrocytes)
– Organotypic brain slice cultures
- Heterologous cell culture
- Cell storage in liquid nitrogen and management of cell banks
- Insertion of DNA into these cell types (by transfection, electroporation, or viral infection)
- Training for the preparation or the use of any of those cell cultures
Autonomous use of the facility’s equipment is possible through a service agreement (e.g., the BSL-2 laboratory for handling human cells).
Equipment
The Cell Culture activities use four L1/L2 modules covering 300 m².
We work with over 50 incubators, 40 laminar flow hoods, stereomicroscopes for dissection and hiPSC cleaning, 10 bench microscopes for cell observation.
We also have more specialized equipment, such as a cell viability counter and brain slicers. Everything is available for all our users through a service agreement.
