FAMS

Our expertise

The FAMS facility gathers all the expertise to perform Fluorescence Activated Microparticle Sorting and flow cytometry. We provide access to a state-of-the-art microdissection and subcellular fractionation laboratory.

  • Enrichment

We can isolate microparticles of interest through subcellular fractionation depending on theirs size and density.

  • Fluorescence activated cytometry and sorting

We can detect, analyze and sort microparticles of interest from a pre-enriched fraction and yield sample nearly purified to homogeneity.

  • Downstream analysis

We can collect samples for downstream analysis methods and assist in the experimental planning (optic microscopy, electron microscopy, immunoblot, omics).

Equipment

  • Two FACS (Fluorescence activated sorters):

FACS Aria II sort droplet-based cell sorter that has been customized with a 200mW blue laser and an optimized optical path for
forward scatter and fluorescence channels.

MACSQuant Tyto Lux microfluidics-based cell sorter with 4 lasers. Allows recurrent sorting steps for very rare populations.

  • One cytometer, with small particle detector

FACSymphony A1 Flow cytometer with the small particle detector and 4 lasers (405, 488, 561 and 637). This flow cytometer provides very high sensitivity and resolution for complex mixtures of micro and nano particles.

Custom service

We can provide a custom service from tissue preparation to sample sorting, analysis and delivery to downstream technologies (omics, imaging …).
Finally, we can also provide on-site training for clients who wish to import the technology in their laboratory.
